On February 20, 1962, John Glenn was the first American to orbit Earth with the space-capsule “Friendship 7” as part of Project Mercury, Nasa’s first human spaceflight program. Based on LED technology, the Mercury transforms its hanging space with one flick of a finger into your personal orbit lounge. Touching the Mercury’s shade changes the light mode from indirect to direct and the translucent heat-shield creates a bright yet very pleasant illumination.
