As no. 3 out of 13 our Martini Lounge Chair is the next in our -A Chair Collection- line up that can be watched on our website beside a making of article in the blog. Just follow the link in bio.
Martinis design was influenced by our allure to space, SiFi and aviation.
In 2008 i had the chance to get an Eames Lounge Chair for a bargain. So at the beginning of the Martini project in 2016 we could easily work with its proportions and angles resulting a comfortable prototype made out of cup board. Also the -upholstery in shell- system allowed us to use thin but strong aluminum for the construction. As soon as the concept reached a workable and presentable stage we went to Müller in Augsburg Germany to ask for a prototype made out of aluminum. Müllers CEO Wendelin Müller (one the coolest guys in the business btw.) offered us to do it for free but only with the agreement to add it to their collection… Since then Martini comes in different colours and upholstery and will be 100% manufactured in Augsburg Germay. Currently we had some tiny improvements like the saddle, that is now mounted invisible on the inside of the shell. Btw. the name Martini was given by the one and only gunslinger Paul Prem who mentioned that the parts of a very early paper model would appear like a martini-cocktail-glass-model-kit to him… 🙂 We are very happy that this idea found its way into reality and pretty thankful for all the nice response.
